The Redwood Times: Divided We Fall

I am so grateful to have been asked to write a blog for Circle City Magazine. I have completely over thought about to write so I'm just going to go for it!

The Anderson Community is full of great people who spend their time and money selflessly To make our community a great place to live. So when I see people doing great work, I acknowledge, commend, and congratulate. Hell, I even think of ways I can help, even if its just advice or ideas. What I don't understand is why our city's government doesn't want the same thing or react in the same way! I mean, didn't you run for office to represent the greatness in our city. Didn't you swear in your roles to uphold the constitution and serve the people of this city?

Sometimes we get so focused on our path and our own idea of success that we lose focus of the bigger picture. The bigger picture of working together to make things as great as possible. The notion that "a person is a person through other people"! If we want to grow and get better, we have to work with one another in a more selfless manor. No, you may not get the fame or recognition for everything you do, but the true altruistic heart and mind is satisfied without it. I can look at what I helped create and feel satisfied within myself knowing that I helped make that happen. I don't need everyone to know it was me! I know it was me! I just want people to see, know and understand, fame and recognition does not always come from being the owner of direct action. It can also come from help and support! By taking care of each other, you will have many hands taking care of you.

To all of my leaders out there, whether elected or assumed, let's focus on supporting one another and getting to a place where we can say, how can I help. Let's remove the road blocks and idea of competition. Let's work together to continue to make this city a great place to live. From the bottom to the top, from the smallest citizens to the Mayor's Office, from the newest business to the oldest, from my organization to yours! Greatness is achieved on so many levels. Just think how great we would be by all working together to build each other up and help each other grow!

Making sure to end on a positive note, please know no matter who you are or what you do, if you're trying to do right and make this city better, I SUPPORT YOU!
